Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information
Last Updated: March 10, 2026
Under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA), California residents have the right to opt out of the sale or sharing of their personal information.
Do We Sell Your Personal Information?
Hot Chocolate Design, LLC does not sell your personal information to third parties in exchange for money.
However, like most online retailers, we use advertising and analytics tools — including Meta Pixel (Facebook/Instagram), Google Ads, and Pinterest Tag — that share certain browsing and purchase data with those platforms in order to show you relevant ads. Under California law, this type of data sharing may qualify as "sharing" personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising, which gives you the right to opt out.
How to Opt Out
You have two ways to opt out:
Option 1 — Cookie Preferences (Recommended)
The fastest way to opt out is to reject advertising and analytics cookies using our Cookie Preferences tool. When you turn off Marketing/Advertising cookies, we stop sharing your data with Meta, Google, Pinterest, and other advertising platforms immediately.
To update your preferences, click "Cookie Preferences" in the footer of any page on our website.
Option 2 — Submit a Written Request
If you prefer to submit a formal opt-out request, please email us at:
Email: international@hotchocolatedesign.com
Subject line: "Do Not Sell or Share — California Opt-Out"
Please include your full name and the email address associated with your account (if any) so we can process your request accurately. We will confirm and complete your opt-out within 15 business days of receipt.
Option 3 — Global Privacy Control (GPC)
If your browser or browser extension sends a Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal, we will treat it as an opt-out request from the sale and sharing of your personal information automatically. Browsers and extensions that support GPC include Firefox, Brave, and DuckDuckGo Privacy Browser.
What Happens After You Opt Out
- We will stop sharing your personal information with advertising platforms for behavioral advertising purposes.
- You may still see ads from Hot Chocolate Design on other platforms, but they will not be based on your browsing behavior tracked through our Site.
- Your opt-out preference will be stored and respected for future visits. If you clear your cookies, you may need to update your preferences again.
- Opting out will not affect your ability to browse our Site, make purchases, or receive order-related communications.
Other Privacy Rights
As a California resident, you also have the right to know what personal information we have collected about you, request deletion or correction of your data, and be free from discrimination for exercising your privacy rights.
For a full description of your rights and how to exercise them, please read our Privacy Policy — Section 8: California Residents.
